Top young golfers gear up for Superkit finals at Luisita

By: Waylon Galvez

Expect an exciting finish as the Superkit Tour reaches its final leg this weekend.

The crucial last stage took place yesterday, while the Finals are scheduled today to determine the winners at the Luisita Golf and Country Club in Tarlac.

Some of the country’s best young golfers, along with previous tour winners, will tee off in Saturday’s last leg.

Notable participants include Geoffrey Tan, Brie Macasaet, Nicole Gan, Mavis Espedido, Jared Saban, Jacob Gomez, Kristoffer Nadales, and Stephanie Gan.

Alonso Fabu leads the Order of Merit with a perfect 400 points through four legs.

Jean Pio Bitangcol and Rafael Manaol hold the second and third spots with 310 and 300 points, respectively, in the 5-7 mixed division.

All three have already qualified for Sunday’s Finals.

To accommodate additional finalists, organizers have decided to expand the roster for Saturday’s event. As a result, several players from Cebu and Davao have signed up for the back-to-back competitions.

Representing Cebu are Marqaela Dy, Rocio Borromeo, Andoni Astor, David Gothong, Zeus Suzara, Jordino Mesina, Sebastian Sajuela, and Kvan Alburo.

From Davao, participants include Soleil Molde, Francesca Ng Ho, Alexandra Ng Ho, Zoey Mascarinas, Luke Marcus Habagat, and Lucas Miguel Revilleza.

Aside from trophies and medals for top performers, organizers have also prepared raffle prizes and giveaways for participants.

Winners of the grand finals will earn berths to the Superkit International Finals, set for January 9-11 at the Guilin Leman Golf Club in Guangxi, China.
