Audi Q3 awaits lucky golfer in AAXS Batch ’01 tournament at Wack Wack

Play with friends, reunite with former batchmates, compete for trophies, and get a chance to win a brand-new car with a hole-in-one.

That is what awaits participants in the Alumni Association of Xavier School Batch ’01 Golf Tournament, as registration is now open for the June 9 event set at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in San Juan City.

In cooperation with the Batch ’01 Sports Committee chaired by Oliver Gan, the AAXS tournament is expected to be a fun-filled event, especially with participants eyeing the hole-in-one prize — a brand-new Audi Q3 sponsored by PGA Cars, along with additional cash prizes from the tournament chief.

“Just like in previous AAXS golf tournaments, we want this edition to also be another experience to remember, and giving a car to the hole-in-one winner will surely be exciting and memorable,” said Gan.

“Proceeds of this tournament will go for a good cause, which AAXS has been doing after previous golf events,” added Gan, who is also the president of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP), which recently staged a successful World Team Championship at the Apo Golf and Country Club in Davao City.

The tournament format will be a modified scramble with alternate putting under the System 36 scoring format. AAXS head Jim Howard See of Batch ’94 is expected to lead the ceremonial tee-off together with Prudencio Cojuangco of PGA Cars, Jeremy Go of Go for Gold, Anthony Uy of Darlington Socks, Batch ’01 president Christopher Tan, and Gan.

Division 1 will feature pairs composed exclusively of Xavierians, while Division 2 will allow mixed partnerships consisting of one Xavierian and a guest or tournament sponsor. The field is limited to the first 150 players.

For sponsorships and inquiries, participants may contact the AAXS office at 09178552297 and look for either Jelly or Juris. The P10,000 registration fee includes giveaways and food for the fellowship night immediately following the tournament.

Aside from See, the other AAXS officers are Jonathan Richie Yap (vice president), Jeremy Cobankiat (secretary-general), and Joseph Emmanuel Ang (treasurer). The 11 members of the Board of Trustees are Alvin Ang, Alfonso Yñigo Dumlao, Fritz Rhinhart Dy, Atty. Anthony Lemuel Lim, Atty. Stefano Angelo Lim, Dr. Benjamin Jose Quito, Sean Kennedy Salvador, Allen Christopher Silvano, Frederick Tiu, Jan Ichael Uy, and Gan.

The event sponsors include Darlington Socks, Islandwide, Go for Gold, ACCLI PLX Pure Logistics Express, Bebangs Halo Halo, EastWest Priority Bank, Alveo Land and Jele Cube, the official juice drink.
