TNT taps Chot Reyes as advisor

Chot Reyes cannot turn his back on coaching.

According to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation, the former Gilas Pilipinas head coach has been tapped by the TNT Katropa to serve as their advisor.

This creates a different coaching structure than the norm, as the flagship franchise of the Manny V. Pangilinan-owned squad will still have Mark Dickel as consultant, while Bong Ravena remains head coach.

Last September 11, Reyes stepped aside as Gilas Pilipinas head coach in the wake of the Gilas-Australia brawl.

This will also mark the Reyes’ return to TNT, a team he steered to four championships from 2008 to 2012.

Besides Chot, his son Josh will also be back on the sidelines as an assistant coach.

Josh joins Alton Lister, Sandy Arespacochaga, and Yuri Escueta as the team’s staff.

TNT will also have a new team manager in Gabby Cui for the 44th season of the PBA.
