From grassroots amateur tournaments to the professional esports scene, TNT, the value brand of Smart Communications, Inc., is taking a significant step forward with the official launch of its esports team, Tropang Alab.
The team is set to debut in the local qualifiers for the Honor of Kings (HOK) Invitational Season 3, scheduled for December 13-15 and December 20-22.
TNT Tropang Alab is made up of a skilled roster of players, including Midlaner Carlito Ribo (IGN: Ribo), a former M2 World Champion for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang; Clash Laner Carl Jioseppe Lacsam (IGN: Calm); Jungler Mark Clinton Pelayo (IGN: Fate); Farm Laner John Christian (IGN: Jaycee); Roamers Ronnel Tan (IGN: Stronger) and Charles Richard Orlain (IGN: Yato); and team coach Jemvic Pingol (IGN: Mori).
The team is already making waves in Honor of Kings, a fast-paced, multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game where teams of players battle strategically using unique heroes with special abilities.
Since the game’s introduction in the Philippines by Level Infinite in June, HOK has captivated local gamers, offering an immersive experience and a growing competitive scene.
TNT Tropang Alab, donning the iconic TNT colors on their jerseys, has quickly become a formidable force in the game.
“With Honor of Kings growing in popularity, TNT is proud to support the esports landscape by introducing Tropang Alab, showcasing our commitment to the gaming community, and empowering Filipino talent to shine globally,” said Lloyd Manaloto, TNT Group Head.
Tropang Alab’s Road to HOK Invitational Season 3
Tropang Alab has already proven its mettle in the competitive HOK scene, securing multiple tournament victories, including Rumble Royale (September 2024), Kings Ordeal Southeast Asia (October 2024), Blacklist Initiation (November 2024), and realme Regional Wars South Luzon (November 2024).
Looking ahead, the team is focused on leveling up their teamwork and gameplay in preparation for the upcoming HOK Invitational Season 3 qualifiers. The qualifiers will take place in the first quarter of 2025 in the Philippines, and Tropang Alab is determined to secure a spot in this highly anticipated event.
“We warmly welcome Tropang Alab into our growing tropa. More than showcasing their fiery passion and skill, the team embodies the camaraderie and brotherhood that define TNT. True to their name, Tropang Alab will ignite the spirit of gamers everywhere and prove that Filipinos have what it takes to succeed and dominate in HOK, powered by TNT,” Manaloto added.
TNT Tropang Alab’s head coach, Jemvic Pingol, expressed the team’s excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent TNT in the professional esports arena.
“Isang karangalan para sa amin na officially ma-represent ang TNT, na laging naniniwala sa talento at galing ng Filipino mobile gamers. Sana ay makapagbigay kami ng saya at inspirasyon sa mga gamers sa pamamagitan ng pagpapakita ng aming skills at determinasyon sa esports journey namin,” Pingol said.
TNT is also offering an opportunity for gamers to elevate their HOK experience with the new TNT 5G Panalo Phone, the most affordable 5G smartphone in the Philippines. Available at Smart Retail Stores and the Smart Online Store for only P3,990, the phone allows gamers to enjoy a seamless gaming experience.
In addition, TNT subscribers can power up their HOK gameplay with TNT ALL DATA 50, which offers 2GB of data valid for three days. This plan, along with other TNT offerings, ensures that gamers stay connected and competitive.
