TNC picked up its first win after sweeping Nexplay EVOS, 2-0, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Sunday night.
Dylan “Light” Catipon set up the Game One win for TNC in the opener with a beautiful catch on John Paul “H2wo” Salonga’s Lancelot and Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera’s Popol Kupa.
Light, formerly known as Unravel, finished with a game-high eight assists laced with a kill and a death in the 16-6 win to nab the SMART 5G MVP award.
“Ako po kasi kapag naka Khufra mahilig talaga ako mag tago sa bush e,” said Light moments after the win. “So nung time na yun maganda talaga yung area na yun para magtago ako then huhuli ako ng mga core nila.”
Come the second match, TNC clamped H2wo’s Roger early to take a 16-9 win for the 2-0 sweep.
The entire TNC contingent crowded H2wo in the early buffs which delayed the NXP jungler — something that a Roger could not afford. Nexplay EVOS tried to mount a comeback late, but it was not enough as TNC ran away with its first win of the season.
Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico’s Paquito won the SMART 5G MVP with two kills, a death, and six assists in the win as TNC improved its slate to 1-1.
Nexplay, on the other hand, dropped to a 0-2 card.
TNC will go up against the skidding BREN Esports on Saturday at 6:00 PM while Nexplay EVOS looks to break out of its slump against ONIC PH on Friday at 6:00 PM.
