TNC coach Vrendon “V” Lin has been curiously missing all throughout the team’s campaign in MPL Philippines Season Nine.
And on Friday night, the rookie coach finally revealed the reason for his non-appearance.
“Sa mga ‘di po nakakaalam, kaya po ako wala sa MPL ay dahil ako po ay na diagnose with Pott disease since February 7,” shared the former ArkAngel coach on his Facebook account.
TNC team manager Dredd De Guzman also confirmed the news to Tiebreaker Times.
V was acquired by TNC after its roster overhaul prior to Season Nine. He was coaching Cerebrum Esports before transferring to the MPL squad to lead its rebuilding following a disastrous Season Eight campaign that saw the Eric Redulfin-owned franchise finish at dead-last with a 4-14 win-loss record.
He was then diagnosed with the disease on February 7 – exactly 11 days before his MPL Philippines debut.
Still, despite his condition, De Guzman shared that V has been helping the team from the side. Moreover, the entire team has also decided to dedicate this season for their ailing coach.
“But basically yes [we dedicate this season to him], especially since coach V is still part of us and every matches kasama pa rin naman namin siya hindi nga lang physically,” De Guzman told Tiebreaker Times.
The TNC organization has already extended its support to V, who is still at the hospital at the moment.
Currently, TNC is a point away behind the top-ranked ECHO (6-1) with 17 points off a 5-3 standing.
