Thirdy Ravena scores 12 as San-en knocks off Koshigaya in Emperor’s Cup


Thirdy Ravena powered the early assault of San-En, helping his squad take an 84-74 win over Koshigaya in the 97th Emperor’s Cup, Sunday at Arena Tachikawa Tachihi in Tokyo, Japan.

Ravena scored five of his 12 points in the opening quarter in a strong start that saw the NeoPhoenix lead the Alphas, 31-24.

The rest of San-En connived in the second quarter as NeoPhoenix extended their lead to 55-39 and never looked back.

The 6-foot-3 Filipino winger also had three rebounds, four assists, and a steal in 26 minutes of game time.

Justin Knox had himself a game, leading San-En with 21 points built on three triples with six rebounds and two assists while Yusei Sugiura had 11 points on 50-percent shooting from the field.

Elias Harris did not play in the game.

San-En will face the winner of the Yokohama-Kagawa game at 3:30PM tomorrow.

Isaac Butts had a 20-20 for the Alphas, tallying 22 points and 20 rebounds while Craig Brackins added 20 points and five rebounds.
