Thirdy Ravena goes down as San-En falters late vs Shiga in B.League

Thirdy Ravena suffered another unfortunate incident during the late stages of San-En’s 87-94 loss to Shiga in the 2020-21 B.League elimination round, Saturday at the Ukaru-chan Arena.

During an inbound play with 1:28 left, the Filipino import was hit at the back of his head by an inadvertent running elbow by Jordan Hamilton. It ended Ravena’s night, finishing the game with 14 points, three rebounds, and three steals.

That moment was just the cap to a nightmare final quarter by NeoPhoenix.

Leading 53-45 in the third canto, Hamilton and the Lakestars hacked away the lead, eventually giving their side a 75-73 lead.

Hamilton, a former member of the Denver Nuggets, then caught fire, burying three consecutive treys in a 9-3 spurt to put away NeoPhoenix.

Hamilton ended up with 34 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds for the 18-32 Lakestars.

Angus Brandt added 19 points, seven boards, and three assists while Masaya Karimata chipped in 14 points and four assists.

San-En, who fell to 11-41, was led by Kyle Hunt, who had 26 points, seven boards, and three steals. Stevan Jelovac tallied 16 points and five boards.

San-En looks to snap out of its seven-game slide tomorrow when it takes on the same team in the same venue.
