Terrence Romeo loses 15lbs, looks to achieve best shape possible

Don’t be surprised if Terrence Romeo will look like the player everybody saw and adored back in 2015.

The flamboyant TNT KaTropa guard revealed that he has been doing his best to achieve his best possible shape to help the Texters even more in the 2018 Governors’ Cup.

Romeo has been hounded by weight issues since this season’s Philippine Cup, as he was sidelined for a few months thanks to the knee issues he had to face last season.

“Nung early part ng season nga, kahit nung first conference ko sa All-Filipino ba yun… All-Filipino, wala talaga ako sa shape eh,” recalled the 26-year-old combo guard.

“Ngayon, nag-lose ako ng fifteen pounds in two weeks,” he added. “Nag-sadya ako kasi nung pagbalik ko sa TNT, medyo one-hundred eighty-five pounds yata ako nun eh.

“Malaki yung binaba ng timbang ko ngayon.”

Romeo and TNT played Sunday night versus his former NorthPort (formerly known as GlobalPort) Batang Pier, and results of his weight-shedding are evident as he looked slimmer.

And minus the few pounds, the reigning scoring champion had proven to be deadly for the opposing team. Against NorthPort, he dropped 25 points on 8-of-16 shooting with eight assists.

The Texters won, 104-102.

The results have been coming so far, but that doesn’t mean Romeo won’t stop working. TNT’s game versus the San Miguel Beermen is still on October 20, and for him, he’ll take advantage of the break.

“Tinetake advantage ko yung mga long break namin, like ngayon, ang next game namin is sa twenty pa sa Calasiao,” the five-year pro said.

“So tine-take advantage ko yun para mag-lose ng weight para mas maging in-shape.”
