Team Liquid PH climbs to second in MPL PH with reverse sweep over Twisted Minds

Team Liquid PH zoomed to second place in the standings after mounting a 2-1 reverse sweep of Twisted Minds in Week 6 of the MPL Philippines Season 16 on Sunday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.

TLPH (7-3) now sits just behind the top spot, overtaking ONIC Philippines (6-3) with two weeks remaining in the regular season.

Facing a 4-on-2 disadvantage during the 18th-minute Lord dance, Miguel “Sionnn” Alcantara (Kimmy) carefully scored a double kill before Mico “Nosia” Guevarra (Moskov) followed up with a double kill of his own to secure the Lord objective.

Sionnn once again delivered heroics in the 20th minute with a top-lane counter-engage, going off for a triple kill to highlight Twisted Minds’ game-winning 5-for-0 wipeout.

In Game 2, TLPH showcased their signature dominance through Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Joy), who led a 13th-minute backline assault resulting in two unanswered pickoffs.

That proved decisive, as not even Sionnn’s (Kagura) last-ditch double kill could prevent the Cavalry from forcing a rubber match.

In the decider, the defending champions debuted the Bane pick, with Kiel “Oheb” Soriano quickly securing two early kills by the third minute, helping TLPH build a 2,400 gold lead.

Oheb’s double kill during the 16th-minute Lord dance sealed Team Liquid’s dominant victory.

With the loss, Twisted Minds dropped to a tie for fourth place with Smart Omega (5-6).
