T1 punches AniMajor playoffs ticket, drops TNC to group stage


Karl “Karl” Jayme spearheaded T1’s 2-0 sweep of Filipino powerhouse TNC Predator in the tiebreaker match to snatch the WePlay AniMajor playoffs ticket in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Southeast Asia upper division, Saturday evening.

The victory put T1 at the top spot while TNC fell to the second spot with identical 5-2 records. The latter settled for a group stage ticket in the WePlay AniMajor.

Karl was a man on a mission in the opener, putting on a perfect Leshrac performance to help T1 overcome the all-Filipino squad in 43 minutes and 26 seconds, 24-15. He finished with seven kills and 12 assists with a total net worth of 29,425.

The 22-year-old midlaner – who was popularly known as Santino – went for the jugular in Game Two, unleashing 10 kills and 15 assists against just two deaths playing Batrider in the 30-9 domination.

Game Two lasted for just 30 minutes and 34 seconds.

Thai carry Nuengara “23savage” Teeramahanon also did his part in the decider. He ended with a perfect 11-0-12 stat line as T1 ran away with the victory.

Earlier in the day, Execration secured its spot in the WePlay AniMajor wild card after ousting erstwhile SEA king Fnatic via a 2-0 victory.

The second DPC Major of the year will run from June 2 to 13 at the WePlay Esports Arena at Kyiv, Ukraine.
