Sta. Lucia beefs up frontline with Dell Palomata


Dell Palomata will suit up for the reloaded Sta. Lucia in the upcoming 2021 PVL Open Conference.

The 6-foot-3 middle blocker confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.

The Realtors inked Palomata to a one-conference deal, which begins in late June or early July.

“Yes po, Sta. Lucia na po ako maglalaro this upcoming PVL conference, but still Air Force pa rin po ako,” said the 25-year-old prospect, who earned the monicker “The Secret Weapon.”

With Palomata as an enlisted personnel, she and Sta. Lucia have to get a special guest license endorsed by Air Force from the Games and Amusements Board.

Palomata chose to sign a deal with the revamped Realtors since it gives her the opportunity to play volleyball again after a long wait due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Sila ‘yung nagbigay sa akin ng opportunity na makalaro ulit at experience na rin kasi makakasama ko mga idol ko sa isang team,” said the middle blocker out of Batan, Aklan.

And yes, experience is abundant in the rebuilt Lady Realtors, which has the likes of Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and Mika Reyes.

Palomata is looking forward to learning more from Reyes, who also plays the same position as her.

“Napapa-wow nalang ako sa kanya lodi talaga. Siguro ‘yung pagiging matapang niya sa court, ‘yun ‘yung matututunan ko kay Mika.”
