South Built shocks 496 to open DPC Lower Division

South Built Esports took down the heavily-favored 496 Gaming via a 2-1 decision to snatch their first win in the Dota Pro Circuit Season Two-Southeast Asia Lower Division, Monday evening.

The team composed of the Vice Esports core who crashed down from the upper division was led by midlaner Mark Anthony “Bob” Urbina’s Ember Spirit, who tallied 19 kills and 13 assists against just a death in the series-clinching Game Three.

It was a one-sided game for the Filipinos as they outscored the Vietnamese, 35-12, in just 33 minutes of game time.

Former Cignal Ultra carry Denz “Abat” Anedez also had a dominant performance playing Gyrocopter as he finished with 17 kills and 10 deaths against one death to help his new squad draw first blood in the series.

The team still has veteran support Joshua “Samael” Dela Serna, offlaner Michael Roi “Enryu” Ladines, and position-5 support Ryniel Keit “Zenki” Calvez while carry Jinn “Palos” Lamatao transferred to Execration.

South Build Esports will take on Army Geniuses on April 15, Tuesday.
