Smart Omega punches MPL PH playoff ticket, boots out TNC

Omega Esports secured its playoff spot after booting TNC out of the playoff race via a quick 2-0 sweep in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Friday night.

The SMART-backed squad moved to the fourth spot with 19 points off a 5-7 standing after picking up its third-straight win.

With TNC looking to take over Game One, Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic’s Pharsa managed to steal the Luminous Lord to give Omega Esports a chance to mount a siege a few minutes later.

That play gave Omega Esports the map advantage and later on, the victory.

E2MAX was named the SMART 5G MVP with three kills, three deaths, and four assists in the 13-11 Game One win which eliminated TNC from playoff contention. “Tingin ko ‘pag maganda yung timpla ng team namin ngayon siguro mabibigyan namin silang lahat ng magandang laban,” said Omega Esports coach Jomie “Pakbet” Abalos on the team’s remaining assignments.

Omega Esports then stepped on the gas in Game Two, containing Adrian “Toshi” Bacallo’s Lunox early to bury TNC further.

A Luminous Lord take entering the 16-minute mark which Ben “Benthings” Maglaque (Khufra) tried to contest, sealed the deal for Omega.
