Smart Omega Esports scored a tight 2-0 victory over Assault in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season One Southeast Asia Closed Qualifer Stage Two, Friday evening.
Team captain Marvin “Boomy” Rushton (Grimstroke) played the hero in Game One with a crucial Ethereal Blade on keNness (Phantom Assassin) to save Justin “Tino” Grimaldo (Arc Warden).
Tino took down keNness to complete the five-man wipe and snatch Game One from the Malaysians.
Boomy finished the match with four kills, eight deaths, and 22 assists while Tino ended up with nine kills, four deaths, and 16 assists.
Mc Nicholson “Mac” Villanueva spearheaded the offense for Omega with 13 kills, three deaths, and 17 assists. The 30th Southeast Asian games gold medalist also played a vital role in shutting down keNness in Game One.
KeNness put up 14 kills, five deaths, and four assists along with a total net worth of 29,983 for Assault.
The Smart-backed squad picked up where they left off in the opener, sealing Game Two in dominant fashion all thanks to Mac’s Death Prophet.
He finished Game Two with a game-high 17 kills along with three deaths, and 13 assists. He also topped the gold department with a total net worth of 22,747.
Tino remained consistent with seven kills, a death, and 15 assists using Io while offlaner Jun “Bok” Kanehara chipped in seven kills, three deaths, and 16 assists.
Omega Esports currently sits at the second seat in Group B with a 1-0-0 record and will go up against Zero Two and Army Geniuses on January 9, Saturday.
