Having played off the bench in the majority of her stint with the Blaze Spikers, the 5-foot-6 dynamo has always been the nudge of energy her team needed when in search of a difference-maker.
While she’s still bringing that same fervor in their past couple of games, Rondina has been doing it at the frontline this time.
The reigning UAAP MVP has been nothing short of spectacular as part of Petron’s starting six. She even led her team in scoring on multiple occasions, including a 22-point outburst in three sets against Sta. Lucia on Tuesday, where she was the lone double-digit scorer in the match.
After a string of masterful performances, the proud daughter of Compostela, Cebu deflected credit to her teammates.
“It’s teamwork naman. Hindi naman sa akin lang. So, kung meron man ia-appreciate, yun yung team,” the UST product said.
Rondina also emphasized that no matter what role she and her teammates play, one goal unites them all.
“Hindi naman big deal kung sino yung papasok, as long as we contribute at makatulong sa team,” said the 22-year-old spiker.
“Walang angat. We work as a team and goal ng team yun para manalo.”
