Miguel “Sionnn” Alcantara kept his head high, choosing to focus on growth rather than disappointment as Twisted Minds bowed out of the MPL Philippines Season 16 playoffs.
The rookie midlaner took pride in how far he’s come, calling his deep playoff run an impressive feat in his debut MPL season.
“Sobrang proud ako sa sarili ko and sa teammates ko kasi hindi talaga madali na maging rookie sa MPL PH,” Sionnn told Tiebreaker Times in an exclusive interview.
“Ito rin yung hardest region kasi, then nakapag-keep up kami sa mga veterans, which is very good para sa amin as rookies,” he added.
As their season came to an end, Sionnn vowed to come back stronger — dedicating more hours to practice and learning from every match.
He stressed that his best performance is still ahead, believing he hasn’t yet played at his full potential.
“Mas pagbubutihan ko pa yung paglalaro ko ng ML, mas dadamihan ko pa paglalaro ko ng RG,” he said.
Sionnn also acknowledged the danger of complacency, especially in a tournament full of tough opponents who improve day by day.
For him, never taking anything for granted is the mindset that has brought him this far. He also highlighted the importance of reflecting on and appreciating one’s journey.
“Alam ko babawi ka. Alam ko magiging one of the best ka sa mid lane. Kaya ayun, patuloy akong magtitiwala sa’yo — kaya wag mo akong bibiguin,” Sionnn said, leaving himself a message of motivation for next season.
