Shaq Delos Santos to steer Alas Women in AVC Cup

SANTA ROSA – Shaq delos Santos will temporarily take over head coaching duties for Alas Pilipinas Women as Tai Bundit continues his recovery from an ankle injury.

Philippine National Volleyball Federation president Anthony “Tony Boy” Liao confirmed the development on Wednesday afternoon at the Nuvali Sandcourt here.

Bundit, who continues to recover from an ankle injury and was also recently involved in a car accident in Thailand, will be out for two to three months, ruling him out of the 2026 AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup in Candon from June 6 to 14.

Delos Santos is no stranger to the role, having previously served as head coach of the national team from 2018 to 2021. He steered the squad in both the Asian Games and the Southeast Asian Games during his tenure.

The veteran coach will get ample support in Bundit’s absence, with Sherwin Meneses and JP Yude part of the coaching staff.
