Seoul Samsung releases Christian David, begins search for new Asian import

Seoul Samsung has decided to release Filipino-American Christian David from his contract with the team early this week.

Multiple sources closely monitoring the situation confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.

The Thunders signed Butler product David after they could not bring William Navarro to Korea due to his contract with Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

Navarro ended up tearing his ACL with Northport.

The 24-year-old David though was not able to play a single game with Seoul Samsung due to nagging knee injuries.

One of Tiebreaker Times’ sources said that David’s left knee — a knee he had surgery on back in high school — was not at full strength

On the other hand, he sustained a minor right knee injury during the season as well.

Seoul Samsung, who is currently at ninth place in the standings with an 8-13 record, is searching for a new Asian import — either a versatile forward or an elite guard.
