SEA Games: Sibol averts disaster vs Singapore to advance to gold medal match

SIBOL averted a huge collapse, securing a 2-1 reverse sweep against Singapore to enter the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang gold medal match of the 31st Southeast Asian Games, Thursday afternoon.

Kyle Soto (Paquito) and Salic Imam (Cecillion) completed a two-against-four tower defense in the latter part of Game Three to keep the Filipinos’ gold medal bid alive.

That crucial play allowed SIBOL to stay within striking distance before eventually scoring the game-winning pickoff on Soul (Dyroth) on the top lane which resulted in a five-man wipe and eventually, the win.

The Filipinos suffered a sorry loss in the opener before establishing an early lead in Game Two which they sustained all throughout the game to tie the series.

SIBOL, who won the first-ever MLBB event of the SEA Games in Manila back in 2019, will take on the winner between Indonesia and Malaysia in the finale tomorrow.

The team swept the entire Group A to post a perfect 6-0-0 standing with nine points entering the semifinals against Singapore.
