Jones Inso bagged silver in the 31st Southeast Asian Games’ men’s taolu taijiquan event, Friday at the Nha Thi Cau Giay in Hanoi, Vietnam.
It was quite a bounce back from the Cordillera native after missing on a medal on home soil in the event in 2019.
Inso held on to the lead with 9.70 until Malaysia’s Zhi Yan Tan snagged the advantage and the gold by the slimmest of margins with 9.71. Singapore pocketed the bronze with Jun Kai Chan’s 9.57.
Two-time champion Daniel Parantac ended with 9.26, which is good for seventh place.
Johnzenth Gajo finished sixth with 9.63 in the tight race in the men’s changquan as the gold and silver medalist in Malaysia’s Su Wei Clement Ting and Singapore’s Jowen Si Wei Lim, respectively, tied at 9.70.
Thorton Quieney Lou Sayan likewise landed in sixth in a similarly close battle in men’s nandao with 9.63.
