WELLINGTON — Sarina Bolden’s 22nd international goal has made history.
It was the first-ever goal of the Philippines in any FIFA World Cup.
Bolden headed the ball home in the 24th minute of the match off a Sara Eggesvik amidst the New Zealand’s failure to clear their lines.
The Filipinas lead 1-0 over the Football Ferns inside a packed Wellington Regional Stadium here.
Alen Stajcic’s side are targeting a win to revive their hopes of advancing out of Group A.
