“The Million Dollar Baby” Sangmanee Klong SuanPluResort and “Left Meteorite” Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai will leave it all on the floor in their ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament semifinal match-up.
This Friday, 21 August, the two Thais banner ONE: NO SURRENDER III in Bangkok, Thailand, ONE Championship’s third show since restrictions have begun to lift in the capital city.
The winner gets Saemapetch Fairtex, who gutted out a tough majority decision win over Rodlek PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym in the main event of ONE: No Surrender II this past Friday, August 14.
Awaiting whoever rules the four-man joust is ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, who has been unstoppable in The Home Of Martial Arts, winning all of his six matches.
Like Nong-O, Sangmanee has yet to taste defeat in ONE Super Series since making his debut at ONE: MASTERS OF FATE in Manila in 2019.
“The Million Dollar Baby” scored convincing wins over Azize “The Magician” Hlali in his debut, then Kenta Yamada in his sophomore appearance to stay unbeaten in the promotion.
But even before joining The Home Of Martial Arts, there were no doubts over what Sangmanee was capable of.
He beat big names such as reigning ONE Strawweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, Muangthai PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym, and Superlek Kiatmoo9 before joining the promotion.
Now he looks to conquer Kulabdam, who made a promising debut in The Home Of Martial Arts last year at ONE: IMMORTAL TRIUMPH when he outpointed Bobo “The Panther” Sacko.
But like Sangmanee, Kulabdam has also made his dent in the sport even before joining ONE.
The Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai standout is a two-time Lumpinee Stadium Champion. He was also named the Sportswriters Association of Thailand Fighter Of The Year in 2017, making the main event truly an intriguing bout between two world-class Muay Thai artists.
