Despite being on a high after getting chosen as the 6th man of the Sibol MLBB roster for the upcoming 2023 Southeast Asian Games, Onic Philippines explaner Nowee “Ryota” Macasa admits feeling the pressure given the winning culture that the country has built in the regional games.
“Una, masaya. Tas nakakadagdag confidence,” said Ryota when asked about his reaction with his inclusion in the Sibol roster.
“Pero malaking pressure para sakin kasi lalaki expectation sakin ng mga tao kasi yun nga, isa ako sa mga napili so malaki ang expectation nila sakin.”
It’s not a surprise though to feel pressured with the Philippines finishing with a gold medal in all previous stagings since MLBB’s inclusion in the SEA Games in 2019.
For Kevin “Bluffzy” Reyes, they took this opportunity to improve as a team after getting exposed to some of the top MLBB teams in the country prior to the MPL Philippines Season 11 opening.
Coach Bluffzy can’t help but celebrate when they reach the top four of the qualifiers and catapulted to the Sibol Combine.
“Sobrang saya namin nun. At the same time, tuwa namin na nakuha si Nowee as one of the players dun sa Sibol,” shared Coach Bluffzy
“Tingin ko sobrang tinake lang namin yung opportunity na yan talaga para moving forward dito sa Season 11 talaga. Kasi the fact na andun sila, nakalaro sila, nakalaro nila yung Echo, Bren and Game Lab, talagang sobrang tingin ko advantage samin talaga. And marami kaming nakuha,” he continued.
“Maraming kaming learnings na nakuha within those teams na nakalaro namin na tingin ko naapply at nagamit namin.”
