The return of Rose Vargas to the collegiate scene was not meant to be.
The Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws took a major blow to their Season 80 campaign, as Vargas was confirmed to be out for the entire season.
Head coach George Pascua confirmed that Vargas’ injury was worse than initially reported. The former UAAP Best Scorer ruptured her Achilles tendon and will be out for six to eight months.
The 25-year-old was set to finish her UAAP career after missing the last four seasons.
The season hosts will have to adjust and find a new starter to fill in Vargas’ role.
The Lady Tamaraws open their season against the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles on Sunday, February 4, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
