Roosevelt Adams is headed to the B.League.
The top overall pick in the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft will play for B.League Division II team Kagawa Five Arrows for the upcoming season.
And the wait was definitely worth it for the 6-foot-5 Filipino-American sniper who gambled on himself when he did not re-sign with Terrafirma last January.
Adams, a product of College of Idaho, joined the MPBL (Pasay) and Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 (Basilan) first before entering the draft in 2019.
In Terrafirma, he only played a total of 22 games, averaging 10.33 points in the 2020 Philippine Cup before raising his scoring to 11.22 points in the 2021 edition of the tournament.
Five games into the Governors’ Cup, Adams opted not to re-sign with the Dyip, becoming a restricted free agent in the local league.
He joins a Kagawa team that is coming off a 36-16 finish last season but fell in the promotional match.
Also in B2 are Kobe Paras (Altiri Chiba), Greg Slaughter (Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka), and Jordan Heading (Nagasaki Velca).
