Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is looking to make his PBA comeback this season.
The celebrated import has been included in TNT’s lineup for the upcoming Season 49 Governors’ Cup, per the official roster list released Wednesday.
It was a surprise move, to say the least, pulled off by the defending conference champions after previously signing Darius Days as its reinforcement.
It was believed, furthermore, that RHJ may not be returning to the PBA sooner as the NBA veteran was reportedly contemplating offers from Europe.
Days is nowhere to be found in the lineup list.
Tiebreaker Times has reached out to the Tropang Giga for comment regarding their supposed import, but has yet to respond as of this posting.
Nonetheless, it should be an exciting time for the perennial contenders as they’ll be rolling with the major reason behind their 2023 Governors’ Cup conquest.
This will be Hollis-Jefferson’s third stint with TNT, which will also be a chance for him to bounce back after his previous PBA campaign got cut short.
He was not able to finish the 2023-24 Commissioner’s Cup due to a neck injury he suffered during their EASL game against Taipei Fubon last December.
But Hollis-Jefferson returned the following month, where he teamed up with brother Rahlir versus Anyang Jung Kwan Jang in the regional league but lost.
The Tropa will begin their season versus the rejigged NorthPort on August 20, Tuesday, 7:30 PM at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
