Ray Parks and Nagoya bounced back from their loss against Shimane last January 3, venting their ire on Hokkaido with a 90-60 rout in the 2021-22 B.League season, Saturday at Dolphins Arena.
Parks was foul-plagued early, ending up with just one point but still mustered five rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes of play.
Still, the Diamond Dolphins’ firepower proved to be too much for Levanga.
After a slow start that saw them fall behind 26-15, the Diamond Dolphins locked down Hokkaido in the second stanza, limiting them to just 1-of-13 shooting from the field for just nine points. On the other end, Coty Clarke outscored Levanga all his lonesome, scoring 10 of Nagoya’s 28 points in the frame.
Nagoya did not let up in the second half, putting up another defensive masterpiece in the final frame.
In the last 10 minutes of the game, Levanga only put up a measly nine points, going just 3-of-10 from the field, as Nagoya cruised to another victory.
Nagoya went up to 19-8 in the standings while dropping Hokkaido to 11-16.
Scott Eatherton led the way for Nagoya with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field with eight rebounds. Clarke ended up with 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists while Yutaro Suda added 12 points.
Shawn Long and De’Mon Brooks were the sole double-digit scorers for Levanga with 14 points each. The duo combined for 13 rebounds as well.
The two squads face off again tomorrow.
