Carino, Aomori absorb 53-point beating in B.League

Aomori was once again on the other end of a beatdown, suffering a 57-110 wire-to-wire loss at the hands of Kumamoto in the 2021-22 B.League Division II season, Sunday at Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium.

It was another horrid outing for the Wat’s. They suffered their 12th straight loss to fall to a league-worst 2-28 record.

Already down 31-18 at the end of the opening frame, Aomori could only muster nine points in the second stanza. They went just 4-of-17 from the field. On the other end, the Volters put up 26 points with Jordan Hamilton leading the way with eight.

It only got worse from there. Kumamoto was able to extend the lead to 83-39 at the end of the third canto while leading by as much as 61 points, 106-45, with 3:50 remaining in the game.

Kumamoto went up to 18-12 in the standings. Hamilton led the way with 24 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds.

Takaaki Kida got 18 points, going 4-of-4 from downtown. Meanwhile, Benjamin Lawson, Samba Faye, and LJ Peak all finished with 16 points apiece. Lawson also grabbed 10 rebounds.

Lakeem Jackson was the sole double-digit scorer for Aomori with 11 points as Renaldo Dixon only put up eight points and five rebounds.

Kemark Carino only played two minutes and 19 seconds in the contest, going 0-of-2 from the field.

Aomori will next face Tokyo Z on January 21 and 22 at Ota Ward General Gymnasium.
