Ray Parks Jr. bags historic third-straight ABL MVP crown

In his final year with San Miguel Alab Pilipinas, Bobby Ray Parks Jr. made sure to make history.

The second generation cager was named as the 2018-19 ABL Local Most Valuable Player, becoming the first-ever player to earn the distinction for three straight years.

Parks, Jr. led the Philippine-based club team to the second seed, but his squad fell to Hong Kong Eastern in the best-of-three quarterfinals, 0-2.

The second overall pick in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft averaged 16.6 points on 52-percent shooting, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.

He bested Brandon Jawato of CLS, Delvin Goh of Singapore, and Chris Dierker of Saigon for the award.

Xavier Alexander of Singapore was crowned as the World Import MVP, while his teammate and former KIA import John Fields was adjudged as the Defensive Player of the Year.

For steering the Formosa Dreamers to a stunning turnaround this season, Dean Murray was hailed as the Coach of the Year.
