Rain or Shine trades Onwubere, Doliguez to NorthPort for Guinto

Three NCAA products switched homes in the first trade for the 46th season of the PBA.

Rain or Shine sent swingmen Sidney Onwubere and Clint Doliguez to NorthPort in exchange for big man Bradwyn Guinto.

The development was first reported by SPIN.ph.

Onwubere and Doliguez were two first round picks in 2017 and 2019, respectively. The 6-foot-4 Onwubere went eighth in 2017, while the 5-foot-11 Doliguez went sixth in 2019.

Onwubere, a product of Emilio Aguinaldo College, had a breakthrough year in the bubble. He averaged 5.73 points and 3.55 minutes in 15 minutes of game time.

Doliguez, a San Beda product, played in just six games, norming 4.17 points and 1.17 boards.

Rain or Shine had a bevy of wings, though. And in Guinto, they got their big man.

Guinto is a six-year pro out of San Sebastian. He had already played for Mahindra and NLEX before spending the last three years with NorthPort.

The 6-foot-6 Fil-Australian though only played sparingly in the bubble, averaging just 10 minutes per game for numbers of 2.22 points and 1.78 rebounds.
