Raffy Mosuela to handle Akari on interim basis

Raffy Mosuela has been named interim head coach of Akari in the upcoming 2024 Premier Volleyball League season, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Mosuela has been part of the Chargers’ coaching staff under Jorge Souza de Brito. He will replace the Brazilian coach as Akari looks to bounce back from a seventh-place finish in the previous conference.

“Charging into an exciting new chapter with a new interim head coach leading the way. Coach Raffy Mosuela has taken on the role of interim head coach for the Akari Chargers,” said Akari in a Facebook post.

“We’re right behind you as you lead the charge, Coach Raffy. It’s time for an electrifying season,” the team added.

The former Philippine Air Force player and current UE boys’ volleyball head coach is set to inherit a promising squad composed of Faith Nisperos, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Fifi Sharma, Erika Raagas, and Michelle Cobb as well as newcomers Grethcel Soltones and Ced Domingo.

The Chargers finished the season-ending Second All-Filipino Conference with a 5-6 win-loss record.
