Sports Vision has canceled the scheduled Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference matches at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna due to inclement weather caused by tropical storm Paeng on Saturday.
“When it comes to weather, the players’ safety and all those involved in each PVL staging is our priority,” said Sports Vision president Ricky Palou.
He added that the Cignal-Choco Mucho and F2 Logistics-Petro Gazz matches will be rescheduled to a later date.
The four teams are in the thick of the fight for the last two semifinal slots, making the matches crucial in their respective bids.
Chery Tiggo has clinched the first semis slot with an unblemished 5-0 slate while grand slam-seeking Creamline is tipped to nail the second berth with a 4-0 mark.
Petro Gazz is in third with a 2-1 card while F2 Logistics and Choco Mucho are tied at 2-2 and Cignal is just half-a-game behind with a 1-2 record.
PLDT and Akari are tied for seventh at 1-3 while UAI-Army has dropped its first four assignments in the season-ending conference of the country’s premier women’s volley league.
Paeng is forecasted to move west northwestward over the Philippine Sea through Sunday while moving towards central or southern portion of Luzon.
PVL games are expected to resume on Nov. 3 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan with Army facing Cignal and Choco Mucho clashing with Akari.
