Ponggay Gaston signs with Chery Tiggo

Ponggay Gaston moved on to a new chapter in her young career, signing with Chery Tiggo for the upcoming 2023 Premier Volleyball League season, the organization announced on Sunday afternoon.

Gaston started her professional career in Choco Mucho where she played with her former Ateneo de Manila University teammates and under college coach Oliver Almadro.2021-PVL-Open-Chery-Tiggo-vs.-Choco-Mucho-Semis-G3-Ponggay-Gaston-3592 Ponggay Gaston signs with Chery Tiggo News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

The 25-year-old outside spiker spent the last two years with the Flying Titans and played a key role in the team’s back-to-back fourth place finishes in the 2021 and 2022 Open Conferences.

Gaston, however, saw her playing time dwindle following the arrival of Des Cheng and Isa Molde.

Choco Mucho finished the season-ending conference at seventh place while Chery Tiggo’s resurgence saw them take fourth place.
