Laus Playbook Esports coach Brian “Panda” Lim helped the ArkAngel franchise clinch its first-ever title back in MPL-Philippines Season Three.
Three seasons later, the Sibol national team coach has put an end to ArkAngel’s dreams of making it back to the big league.
Laus Playbook Esports initiated a thrilling 2-1 come-from-behind win over ArkAngel to clinch the final spot in the MPL-Philippines Season Seven main draw, Sunday evening.
Interestingly, Playbook took the early game advantage in Game Three despite having Claude and Hayabusa on their side. But it only took one clash from ArkAngel to close the wide gap.
Arvin “Arvs” Bacayan played a vital role in keeping Playbook alive, popping multiple perfectly timed Dispersions. That allowed Peter Jay “JAKE THE DOG” Lapitan (Claude) and Joshua “Aspect” Tating (Hayabusa) to peel off ArkAngel’s heroes.
Arvs won MVP honors with a 4-0-10 line. He also dished out a whopping 91,349 total damage throughout Game Three.
Nowee “Ryota” Macasa finished with six kills and two assists. Meanwhile, Aspect and JAKE THE DOG had a combined total of four kills, four deaths, and 10 assists.
Tank Ian “Beemo” Sergio and sixth man Erwin “Yakou” Magno complete the roster.
This is the third time that ArkAngel came up a game short for the final spot in the main draw – dating back to the Season Five qualifiers.
Earlier in the day, Work Auster Force clinched the first slot in the Main Qualifiers after defeating ArkAngel via a 2-0 sweep.
Work Auster Force and Playbook will be joining reigning world champion BREN Esports, Smart Omega Esports, Execration, ONIC PH, Aura PH, Blacklist International, NXP Solid, and Cignal Ultra in the grand stage.
