Phoenix set for coaching change as Willy Wilson exits after lone conference

Willy Wilson’s stint as Phoenix head coach lasted just one conference.

The former PBA pro was not renewed by the Fuel Masters following their 2025–26 PBA Philippine Cup campaign, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation.

One team insider said Phoenix management is still evaluating which members of the current coaching staff will be retained moving forward.

Wilson took over as head coach during the off-season, replacing Jamike Jarin, who was subsequently named team consultant.

In what turned out to be his lone conference with the Fuel Masters, Wilson led the team to a 3–8 record, finishing 10th overall.

Phoenix is now looking to the collegiate ranks for Wilson’s replacement.

The Fuel Masters are scheduled to hold their first practice of the year on January 19.
