PFF gives Cebu provisionary license; Laos given deadline to fulfill requirements

The Philippine Football Federation’s Club Licensing First Instance Body gave an update about the status of the applications of the three clubs hoping to join the upcoming season of the Philippines Football League.

Cebu has one foot in the door in terms of competing in the country’s top-flight competition. Meanwhile, Laos has a few requirements left to fulfill before it can reach the same designation.

“After careful deliberation and evaluation, the FIB has issued a provisional PFF Club License to Dynamic Herb Cebu FC. However, the provisional license is subject to withdrawal if the club is unable to comply with the Sporting, Personnel and Administrative, and Legal criteria set in the PFF Club Licensing Regulations within the seven (7) day deadline set by the FIB,” read the statement.

If the team’s administrators cannot accomplish these, then they shall be prevented from joining this year’s campaign.

“The same body held their decision in abeyance on the application of LAOS FC, and instead extended the deadline for the applicant club to fulfill the Sporting, Personnel and Administrative, Legal, and Financial criteria set in the regulations. Failure to comply in the stipulated time frame will result in the denial of a license to LAOS FC.”

The two aforementioned clubs received notification of the decisions regarding their respective applications.

On the other hand, Rapids of Cagayan de Oro has yet to receive a judgment on whether or not it can compete in the next PFL campaign. It still needs to work on more documentation and other requirements.

“The FIB has yet to deliberate on the extraordinary application of Rapids FC pending the club’s completion of their requirements set in the regulations,” explained the statement.

As it is, defending champions United City will look to defend its crown against the likes of Maharlika Manila, Kaya-Iloilo, Mendiola 1991, Dynamic Herb Cebu, and Stallion Laguna.

The Azkals Development Team will also join as a guest team once again.
