Finn McDaniel fired another hat-trick as Stallion Laguna’s run at the top of the PFL standings continued with a 6-0 barrage against the Philippine Army on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The forward opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a shot towards the far post that Reid Brillantes failed to gather.
Jose Dourado doubled the tally two minutes later off a feed from Abraham Placito before McDaniel made it 3-0 from a free kick in the 39th minute.
McDaniel completed his three-goal romp in the 75th minute with a long-range effort before Kenneth Pryde (80’) and Junior Sam (87’) added two more to put Stallions on top with 12 points.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Air Force finally entered the win column, while Davao UMak notched a road win.
The Airmen eked out a 2-1 victory over Tuloy FC.
The win puts Air Force in 11th place, ahead of Maharlika Taguig and DB Garelli United on goal difference.
Tuloy, however, is pegged in ninth place and has been winless in its last two outings.
Jed Delariarte scored the marginal goal in the 41st minute after Ronald Macasinag gave Air Force the lead in the 21st minute.
John Loyd Jalique gave Tuloy a lifeline in the 87th minute, but Air Force managed to preserve the win.
On the other hand, the Aguilas romped past Manila Montet, 5-0.
It’s Davao’s third straight win, allowing them to move up to fifth in the standings while compounding Montet’s position at the bottom of the table.
Forward Ibrahima Ndour loomed large with a hat-trick performance in the 36th, 50th, and 54th minutes.
Yusuke Unoki (28’ and 90’) and Kart Talaroc (79’) scored off rebounds from their penalties.
Montet’s Mark Jones made a good showing in goal with 11 saves, including three penalty saves.
