The Philippine Basketball Association has announced that they are inviting Gilas Pilipinas for a closed-door meeting on Thursday to discuss the incident that took place in their game against the Australia Boomers on Monday night.
The league made the announcement through social media avenues Facebook and Twitter, Tuesday morning.
A total of 13 players were ejected due to the brawl, the worst to happen in recent memory. Nine players were disqualified from the Philippine side, and eight of them are PBA players.
11 of the 12 Gilas cagers are from the PBA.
Naturalized center Andray Blatche was the other one kicked out.
The three left on the court and played for a few minutes were Meralco Bolts point guard Baser Amer, reigning four-time league MVP June Mar Fajardo of the San Miguel Beermen, and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters’ Gabe Norwood.
The Boomers won by default, 89-53, as Fajardo and Norwood intentionally fouled out to end the game.
