PBA: Blackwater ties record for lowest output in a quarter with two

Blackwater tied a record in futility on Friday.

The Bossing scored just two points in the opening quarter of their 2022 PBA Philippine Cup encounter against NLEX at Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Blackwater’s sole field goal came from Yousef Taha at the seven-minute and 57-second mark of the quarter. NLEX had a 9-2 start prior.

The Ever Bilena-owned squad went just 1-of-17 from the field and 0-4 from deep. The Bossing also missed their two free throw attempts of the quarter.

The last time a team scored just two points in the opening quarter was back on February 26, 2001 during Mobiline’s 69-71 loss to Sta. Lucia.

This is also just the fourth time in league history that a team only scored two points in a quarter.

Ginebra only put up two points in the third quarter during its game against Coca-Cola back on April 26, 2003. Just two years ago, Northport only scored two points as well in the third quarter in a 68-70 loss to Rain or Shine.
