The much-awaited PBA All-Star Weekend, held annually during the middle of the PBA season, is set to return to its home, the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City this August.
A contract signing between the league and Uniprom Inc. was held Tuesday afternoon at the Gauguin Room in Novotel Hotel – Manila to formalize the partnership. PBA Commissioner Chito Narvasa and OIC-COO of Uniprom Irene Jose signed the agreement.
The weekend will be a treat to fans and players alike, as the Big Dome will host a basketball clinic for kids and a friendly match-up between the PBA Giants and PBA Stalwarts.
The weekend will culminate with the highly-anticipated All-Star Game, with the North going up against the South. Moreover, during the halftime break of the game. The best of the best coming from the PBA Women’s 3×3 Tournament will showcase their talents as well.
“We’re planning [a lot of activities],” said Commissioner Narvasa about the weekend. “Sinabihan na ako ni Chairman Robert Non na kailangan under his watch, maiba naman para matandaan ng basketball fans yung event.”
“I also urged the players to show extra effort in reaching out to the fans to give them more enjoyment.”
