PBA 3X3: TNT, Limitless renew rivalry in Leg 3 Final

Familiar foes TNT and Limitless App will duke it out in the PBA 3×3 Second Conference Leg 3 final, Sunday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

The Tropang Giga were the first to book a spot in the championship bout after weathering the gutsy Terrafirma in overtime, 21-19.

Almond Vosotros nailed 10 points, capped by his game-winning deuce in the extra period to save his side after allowing the Dyip to come back from a seven-point deficit early and take a one-point lead briefly late in regulation.

Lervin Flores added eight points, while Chris Javier and Samboy de Leon combined for three markers for the Leg 1 champions.

Terrafirma was led by the seven points of Jeremiah Taladua. Dhon Reverente supplied six, while Jebb Bulawan chipped in four.

The Appmasters then followed the flagship MVP Group franchise to the finale after overcoming Meralco in a highly-physical battle, 16-11.

Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser was once again on the forefront of the reigning grand champions’ attack with eight points and four blocks.

The 6-foot-8 forward went 4-of-4 from the field, including the deuce that sparked their 6-1 breakaway to turn a one-point lead to 16-10 with 1:17 left.

Tonino Gonzaga and Alfred Batino had four points apiece for the Bolts, who have yet to reach the final since their runner-up finish in the first stop,

TNT surely has an ax to grind against Limitless, especially after that 20-21 loss in the Leg 2 quarterfinals last week that spoiled its back-to-back bid.

It was the Appmasters’ revenge for losing to them in the Leg 1 semis, 19-20, so their looming match that has P100,000 at stake will be a tiebreaker of sorts.
