After a bad start into the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup, the Magnolia Hotshots are rolling along nicely.
The Hotshots collected their second straight victory – their first win streak of the conference ~ after blasting the Columbian Dyip, 109-83, Wednesday evening at SMART Araneta Coliseum.
Magnolia had started the all-Filipino tilt with three straight losses. So now, star guard Paul Lee is particularly satisfied that Magnolia are regaining their groove at the most opportune time.
“Good for us na we’re peaking at the right time,” said Lee.
“Hopefully, ‘wag maputol yung streak namin dito.”
Wednesday’s win improved the Hotshots’ card to 3-4. It also brought them up to the seventh spot of the team standings.
And for Lee, all the wins that they have collared will mean nothing if they lose to rivals Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in a new Manila Clasico affair this coming Sunday, March 17.
“We need to keep working hard. Lagi kami nire-remind na lahat ng panalo namin balewala kung matatalo kami sa Sunday,” said the eight-year pro out of UE. “We need to be ready.
“It’s gonna be a good battle.”
