Parks, Nagoya wallop Osaka for eighth straight win in B.League


Ray Parks and Nagoya zoomed in the third frame, leaving Osaka in the dust en route to a 108-84 win in the 2021-22 B.League season, Wednesday at Ookini Arena Maishima.

Knotted at 46-all at the break, the Diamond Dolphins went on a 36-point third quarter while limiting Evessa to a paltry 4-of-15 shooting for 15 points.

Coty Clarke was unstoppable in the quarter, putting up 10 of his 23 points during that span. He finished the game with nine rebounds and six assists as well.

Tenketsu Harimoto and Taito Nakahigashi both had six points each as well during their third quarter surge.

Nagoya’s lead would go to as high as 27 points late in the game.

The Diamond Dolphins went up to 17-7 after notching their eighth straight win while dropping Evessa to 12-12.

Takumi Saito had 18 points, five rebounds, and five assists while both Scott Eatherton and Tatsuya Ito got 13 points each with the former also grabbing eight rebounds for Nagoya.

Ray Parks also had a solid outing with 12 points, two rebounds, and two steals while Harimoto chipped in 11 points.

Osaka was led by DJ Newbill with 26 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a block while Ira Brown and Perry Ellis added 15 points each.

Nagoya will next face Shimane on January 2 and 3 at Matsue City Gymnasium.
