Despite having a star-studded lineup, the Pampanga Delta’s Most Valuable Player for the National Basketball League (NBL) Season 3 Black Arrow Express-President’s Cup is a budding prospect.
Twenty-four-year-old Mexico, Pampanga native CJ Gania was crowned as the Pinakamahusay na Manlalarong Homegrown, Monday evening at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in Angeles, Pampanga.
In eight games played, the lanky guard out of Don Honorio Ventura State University averaged 11.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
Joining him in the Mahusay na Manlalarong Homegrown (All-NBL Team) is his teammate Encho Serrano, who posted norms of 19.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.7 steals in six games played.
Completing the squad are La Union’s Mitchelle Maynes, Paranaque Aces’ Salvador Galit, and CamSur’s Jonathan Del Rosario.
La Union’s Jayson Apolonio was hailed as the Defensive Player of the Season. He put up 2.6 defensive rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game.
Completing the honor roll is Apolonio’s teammate Ervin Silverie, who was adjudged as the Huwarang Homegrown Player.
