Mylene Paat and Prisilla Rivera had their moments in the Chery Tiggo-Akari clash on Thursday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
The former import in Thailand spiked an off-the-block hit over the Chargers reinforcement to give Chery Tiggo a 16-10 lead in the fourth set.
Paat then landed and look on the other side of the net, with the three-time Olympian out of Dominican Republic straightly looking into the former’s eyes.
“Hindi ko po talaga balak mag-angas,” shared the Crossovers star after their 23-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 15-6 win.
“Ganon lang po talaga ako maglaro kapag nakablock parang magsstay yung kamay ko doon tapos nakaharap,” said Paat, who finished with a team-high 19 points on 17 attacks and two kill blocks.
But shocked was Paat after seeing the 37-year-old Rivera looking unfazed.
This elicited a Paat sweet smile from Rivera, who registered a game-high 30 points in the losing cause.
“Hindi ko inexpect na nakaharap din siya sa akin so pagkatingin ko talaga sa kanya, peace na lang ako,” added the 5-foot-11 opposite hitter out of Adamson University.
“Nagulat po ako syempre kasi nasa harap ko eh. Sisigaw dapat ako that time, sisigaw talaga ako kaso napigilan ‘yung sigaw ko kasi nakita ko nakatingin pa siya sa akin – sa mata ko mismo.”
The two had another moment late in the fourth frame as Rivera’s powerful ‘regalo’ hit Paat as the former quickly apologized to the latter.
