From self-doubt to a driving force for victory, Dylan “Light” Catipon has turned his early-season insecurities into strength, leading Aurora to an impressive three-game winning streak in MPL PH Season 16.
In an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times, Light admitted that he struggled with self-doubt following Aurora’s opening day loss to Team Falcons.
Despite his initial doubts, Light used his Season 16 debut to prove himself and earn the trust of his teammates, becoming the only new member on a squad that finished fourth last season.
Medyo nale-lessen yung mistakes. Nape-prevent na, ganun. Kaya big deal talaga tong win streak namin para sakin,” he added, highlighting how the team’s three-game win streak helped him regain confidence in the league.
Light’s resurgence came at a crucial time, as Aurora bounced back in Week 2 with victories over MPL PH heavyweights Team Liquid PH and ONIC Philippines. They followed it up with another impressive win over league leaders Twisted Minds.
Syempre pag nanalo kayo, more and more pagkakatiwalaan ka sa calls or sa plans,” Light said, emphasizing how the wins strengthened team trust and cohesion.
Aurora will look to extend their streak as they face TNC Pro Team on Sunday, September 7, with Light’s playmaking from the roamer position expected to be a key factor.
