ONIC PH dominates ECHO to open MPL PH 8

ONIC PH put up a dominant debut, making quick work of ECHO via a lopsided 2-0 sweep in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Friday night.

Coming off a strong Game One showing, ONIC PH stepped on the gas come Game Two to bag their first victory of the season.

The 1-2 punch of Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol (Harley) and Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy spearheaded the Game Two dominance — taking down the Lord in the 10:05-mark of the match to tear up ECHO’s remaining turrets.

ONIC PH started off the siege with a kill on Christian “Rafflesia” Fajura (Chou).

Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales (Lunox) tried to make things work for ECHO with a return kill on Baloyskie, but it was not enough as Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales (Paquito) and Kairi put the cherry on top for ONIC PH.

The 15-year-old Kairi nabbed the MVP award with a perfect 6-0-1 kill-death-assist tally while also recording a game-high 9,113 net worth in the 8-2 win.MPL-PH-8-ONIC-def-Echo-Game-Two ONIC PH dominates ECHO to open MPL PH 8 ESports Mobile Legends MPL-PH News - philippine sports news

“Si Kairi gigil na gigil e, gusto niya may mapatunayan [as a] core and yun naman mukha namang may napatunayan siya kanina tapos yung kay Hate naman, napansin ni coach na mataas yung potential niya sa gold lane and kita naman sa laban na maganda yung pinakita niya,” said Baloyskie after the win.

Baloyskie, who finished with a total of four assists in the match, also revealed the reason behind the surprise Lylia pick in the clincher.

“Yung Lylia hindi po namin siya ginagamit pero yung coach namin, parang napansin niya na sobrang ganda raw nung Lylia sa mga heroes nila so nag tiwala na lang siya na binigay sakin, nagagamit ko naman pero hindi often,” he explained.

Bennyqt had a kill and a death in the 11:31-minute Game Two while Rafflesia was held to just four deaths.

ONIC PH maximized its splitting capabilities in Game One, utilizing Kairi’s Ling to gain full control of the map.

ECHO showed signs of life through Rion “Rk3” Kudo’s Kagura, but it was not enough as Hatred’s Esmeralda and Baloyskie’s Nathan put on the finishing touches to end the match in 18 minutes and 51 seconds.

Baloyskie won MVP honors with four kills and an assist against five deaths in the 12-9 Game One win.MPL-PH-8-ONIC-def-Echo-Game-One ONIC PH dominates ECHO to open MPL PH 8 ESports Mobile Legends MPL-PH News - philippine sports news
