Team Liquid Philippines and Falcons AP.Bren are expected to receive a huge boost from overseas Filipino workers in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MSC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, later this month.
MOONTON Games regional public relations manager Keith Medrano said they anticipate a significant number of OFWs to support the Filipino teams in the MSC, which is set to be featured in the prestigious Esports World Cup.
Medrano highlighted the crucial role of OFWs in boosting the morale of Team Liquid PH and Falcons AP.Bren in the 16-team tournament.
The winner will take home $1,000,000 from the staggering $3,000,000 prize pool, as mentioned during the Philippine Sportswriters Association’s weekly forum.
“Sa ngayon po, yung Esports World Cup, they’re building an esports city para sa mga paparating na Esports World Cup Tournaments and they were expecting thousands of on-ground spectators including po yung nga OFWs natin doon,” Medrano said.
This will be the first time an ML:BB tournament is held in Saudi Arabia, which is why Medrano hopes that Team Liquid and Falcons AP.Bren can give the OFWs their money’s worth.
“Lalo na po sa mga players natin, first time nilang makakapunta sa Riyadh. So, ine-expect po natin na ito yung magiging best experience nila sana sa tournament and magkaroon sila ng maraming memories kasama yung mga teams nila,” he added.
Falcons AP.Bren EXP sixth man Vincent “Pando” Unigo said that the presence of Filipino supporters will give both Pinoy squads a massive advantage against other teams in the MSC.
The MSC 2024 is set to run from June 28 to July 14.
