Forty days until the NU era in the UAAP begins
For the logo, the acronym “UAAP” has the Philippine sun in the background, with the colors reflecting the eight member schools of the league.
On the other hand, the color of the number “81” is colored blue and gold – NU’s colors.
This year’s theme is “It All Begins Here”.
For the last 80 years, the UAAP has been seen as the league where the student-athletes begin their journey to becoming either professional athletes or national team members.
Moreover, NU is promising some sweeping changes to the league – including balancing the schedule of the UAAP’s calendar and a physical copy of the league’s rule book that will be available to everyone.
The 81st season of the UAAP is set to open on September 8 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Prior to tip-off, the league’s opening ceremony will have James Reid and Sponge Cola as part of the featured acts.
